Salk Naming Test

Naming of objects is one of the basic skills tested for in any aphasia examination. Only 2 of the items in the standard Boston Naming Test (BNT) met our criteria of having a lexical sign, and the lexical sign for the item had to be nationally utilized with little or no regional variation (see our discussion about regional signs in the appendix section, or click here). The Salk Naming Test is the product of re-configuring the BNT so that the images used as a whole have lexical signs that are fairly uniform nationally.
